Importing a Firearm Into Canada

E-mail Print PDF
I have attached the web page explaining the firearm laws in Canada. Please read this very carefully as you could encounter problems at the Canadian border/customs  if you do not have the proper paperwork for your firearm. It is a very simple procedure with a nominal fee of $25.00; however, if it is not completed properly you will not be able to bring your firearm into Canada.

Ensure you read the section on Firearms Import Procedures for Individuals

Form#CAFC 909 is located at the following site: http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/cfp-pcaf/form-formulaire/pdfs/909.pdf
You must have the form completed and present it to a customs officer for his/her signature after inspection of your non-restricted firearm.

The Non-Resident Firearms Declaration (Form CAFC 909) must be presented in triplicate, unsigned, to a customs officer at your first point of entry into Canada.

For more information on declarations by visitors, please call the Canada Firearms Centre (CFC) at 1-800-731-4000, or visit their Web site at www.cfc-cafc.gc.ca.
